Loraine Lundquist for L.A. City Council, District 12, in the runoff election August 13, 2019.

On the June 4, 2019, special election ballot for voters throughout LAUSD, members of EAPD voted overwhelmingly (79 percent) on April 23 to endorse voting YES on Measure EE. It would enact a 16-cent per square foot parcel tax on dwellings for 12 years, with exemptions for homeowners who are seniors or people with disabilities, in order to fund our local public schools. Angelenos fund our public schools at just 60 percent of levels in other major U.S. cities. Parcel taxes are the unique vehicle open to school districts to increase local investment and require a two-thirds approval from voters to pass.
